SPRING NEWSLETTER 2024

28th April

It's been a busy time at the Shed since the New Year.  A very warm welcome to all of the lovely new ladies who have joined us.  Lesley has been leading us in some fantastic creative art projects and Shelley has been teaching us all the art of needle-felting.

We also had inspiration from the Robson Green's Weekend Escapes TV programme when he tried his hand at making clay fish.  Robson, you have nothing on our talented ladies who produced wonderful glazed fish of every shape and colour.

We are nearly ready to send another consignment of baby bundles to Ukraine.  We are short of hand-knitted baby jackets.  If you're able to help, we have wool and needles at the Shed.

So, I'll get some photos posted as soon as I can, and I'll look forward to see you all on Wednesday.  See ya,  Judy x

UPDATE: THE SPRING FLOWER FESTIVAL 2022

28 May 2022

What an amazing weekend we had in the setting of the beautiful Holy Trinity Church Centre, resplendent in metres of bunting, silk roses and swags of white wisteria. The doors opened at 10:30am on Saturday 30th April,  and a warm welcome given by our Mayor Cllr Denise Bates.  The stream of visitors over the weekend browsed the stalls of local artisan crafters, and enjoyed mouth-watering refreshments in our cafe before heading off with home.  See the full report on the Spring Flower Festival Page.

CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL 2021 ST JAMES'

30 November - 4 December 2021

We’ve been making dolly-peg angels and shepherds, and Jenny has been knitting sheep with rainbow blankets to decorate our tree for the wonderful Christmas Tree Festival over at St James’ Church. Our theme is "While Shepherds Watched their Flocks by Night."  There are sixty trees from local churches, businesses, schools and community groups.  Admission is free. Refreshments and programmes are available for a small donation.  The money raised is being given to Breakthrough Homeless Day Centre who help the homeless and the charity, Stand By Me, a charity which helps children in need overseas.
