Spring Flower Festival 1

THE SPRING FLOWER FESTIVAL 30 APRIL-1 MAY 2022:
A BIG THANK YOU

28 May 2022

What an amazing weekend we had!  The doors opened at 10:30am on Saturday 30th April and the event was officially declared open by our Mayor Cllr Denise Bates, who is an inspirational supporter of the Women's Shed in Trowbridge.  The beautiful Holy Trinity Church building that we meet in each week, was resplendent in metres of bunting, silk roses and swags of white wisteria between the pillars.

Stallholders, many of them members of the Women's Shed brought and sold their handmade crafts, original watercolours, cushions made with vintage lace, crochet throws, quilts, jewellery, eco-bunting, garden plants ... the list goes on. The Trowbridge Men's Shed helped us set up and sold a variety of handmade wooden garden products on their stall, as well as some fantastic vintage garden tools. Claire's Craft Corner for the little one's proved so popular that two families came back both days, to enjoy making and painting.  There were also pre-loved craft, gardening and cookery books for sale.

The steady stream of visitors over the weekend enjoyed a welcoming space to sit and chat.  Refreshments were provided by Kay and her team from St Thomas' Church, and they served us with teas and fresh coffee,  and delicious, mouth-watering cakes, on tables decorated by the Women's Shed with hand-painted glass jars full of wild flowers.

We were delighted to raise Â£350 for our Hearts for Ukraine Campaign to sponsor a Baby Bundle for premature babies being born in the most terrible conditions in war-torn Ukraine.  See our Hearts for Ukraine page for more information.

SO, THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO WORKED SO HARD TO MAKE THE WEEKEND A RESOUNDING SUCCESS.

THE NEXT EVENT WILL BE OUR ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY IN OCTOBER 2022!
