There’s always something fun and exciting happening at Trowbridge Women's Shed. As well as joining in with a range of activities and enriching programs, it's also a great opportunity to come and have some breathing space, and meet old and new friends over a cuppa. We like to keep our members informed about what’s happening at our Centre and what’s going on in the community.
We are welcoming and inclusive, and we aim to create a connected community where women are empowered to pursue their interests.
Below is a list of planned activities and events which we will build upon as more members join. We look forward to seeing you!

KNIT (OR CROCHET) & NATTER
Bring your own knitting or crochet project or come and learn how to knit, or improve your skills. You are welcome to use any of the donated wool and knitting/crochet needles available. There is always someone around to give you some help and advice if you need it.

LOOSE ENDS - FABRIC AND YARN CRAFTS
If you've never used a sewing machine before, the Team will be on hand to guide you through the basics; threading your machine, tension and fabric. Learn how to cut out and use a basic pattern, sew in a straight line, join seams, hems, button holes and zips.

STUDIO TIME: MACRAME AND POTS
We've been painting pots, and will soon be making Macrame Pot Hangers. Register your interest by filling in the Contact Form at the bottom of the page.

COLOURED EASEL ART GROUP
There is a range of media available to use - watercolours, acrylics, pencil crayons, pastels, and a selection of papers and brushes. You are welcome to bring your own materials. There's always someone on hand to provide help and advice, as well as some taught sessions. Currently we have local artist Rachel Yorke doing some taught sessions: Observation & Drawing

SUGARCRAFT FOR BEGINNERS
You will have the opportunity to use three types of icing. FIRSTLY, we will cover a cake using sugar paste, also known as ready-to-roll or fondant icing. SECONDLY we will use modelling paste to make roses and leaves or your own design. FINALLY, learn how to use a piping bag with a round nozzle and royal icing to write or add a simple pattern to your cake. WE WILL ALSO COVER how to store sugarpaste icing between uses and tips for storing sugarpaste decorations.
Ask the Team for further advice about what to bring with you and the cost of materials.

GIRLS OUT GROUP
We are planning some short walks around the Trowbridge area, visits to National Trust properties and gardens, and trips further afield to the coast, markets, the cinema and theatre. If you have any great walks, ideas about trips and visits, we would love to hear your ideas. If you are interested, please use the Contact Form and include your mobile number for the Girls Out WhatsApp Group.

WELL READ WOMEN BOOK SWOP
Feel free to curl up and grab a magazine or book from the shelf. We now have a selection of books and magazines you can borrow. Liz is the person to speak to and donations of books in good condition are welcome.

TROWBRIDGE MEN'S SHED LINK
If, like Jean and Lyndsey, you would like to do some woodwork, the Trowbridge Men's Shed are happy to help. They need a group of 4 and will provide tuition and the use of all of their equipment for £3.50 per session. There's a small charge for materials to cover wood, screws etc. Speak to our Team for more details.
