There’s always something fun and exciting happening at Trowbridge Women's Shed. As well as joining in with a range of activities and enriching programs, it's a great opportunity to come and meet old and new friends over a cuppa. We like to keep our members informed about what’s happening at our Centre and what’s going on in the community.
We are welcoming and inclusive, and we aim to create a connected community where women are empowered to pursue their interests.
Below is a list of planned activities and events which we will build upon as more members join. We look forward to seeing you!

LOOSE ENDS - FABRIC AND YARN CRAFTS

Or you could learn how to do Felting with Soo, one of our Women's Shed members.
STUDIO TIME: MACRAME AND POTS STARTING JUNE 2022
Learn how to make a macrame pot holder, or decorative wall hanging. You will will to sign up at the Shed.
COLOURED EASEL ART GROUP - WATERCOLOUR WASHES: LEARNING THE BASICS.
Watercolour painting is known for its inherent delicacy and subtlety because its all about thin washes and transparent colour, which is controlled by adding water to vary the shades. A watercolour wash is a layer of semi-transparent colour with diluted watercolour paint. It's applied over the paper to help create the background or build layers of colour.
SUGARCRAFT FOR BEGINNERS
You can do this! You will have the opportunity to use three types of icing. FIRSTLY, we will cover a cake using sugar paste, also known as ready-to-roll or fondant icing. SECONDLY we will use modelling paste to make roses and leaves, or you can try your hand at modelling. FINALLY, learn how to use a piping bag with a round nozzle and royal icing to write or add a simple pattern to your cake. WE WILL ALSO COVER how to store sugarpaste icing between uses and tips for storing sugarpaste decorations.
Ask the Team for further advice about what to bring with you and the cost of materials.
GIRLS OUT GROUP
We are planning some short walks around the Trowbridge area, visits to National Trust properties and gardens, and trips further afield to the coast, markets, the cinema and theatre. If you have any great walks, ideas about trips and visits, we would love to hear your ideas.
WELL READ WOMEN BOOK SWOP
Feel free to curl up and grab a magazine or book from the shelf. We now have a selection of books and magazines you can borrow. Liz is the person to speak to and donations of books in good condition are welcome.
TROWBRIDGE MEN'S SHED LINK
If, like Jean and Lyndsey, you would like to do some woodwork, learn to tile, or other DIY skills, the Trowbridge Men's Shed are happy to help. They need a group of 4 and will provide tuition and the use of all of their equipment for £3.50 per session. There's a small charge for materials to cover wood, screws etc. Speak to our Team for more details.
